  • The team attends five races each season and needs to fill roughly 500 volunteer hours each race, a combination of Boise Brave AND Idaho League (IICL) volunteer needs. IICL facilitates and hosts the races and they ask that a team our size fill a minimum of 25 IICL volunteer shifts each race, in addition to our Boise Brave volunteer shifts.

Don’t miss the main event! We encourage families to avoid volunteering during their student-athlete's race, ensuring you can fully enjoy and support your child's participation. Your presence matters, and we want you to savor every moment of the main event!

Brave Volunteers: Our team employs SignUp Genius for race weekend volunteer needs. Get the SignUp Genius Mobile App for convenient on-the-go sign-ups and to manage your selected positions at race venues.

We appreciate your early sign-ups to help team leadership plan and prepare accordingly.

Family Expectations: The volunteer need at races is substantial and because of this each family is expected to contribute six volunteer hours at each race weekend their student-athlete attends. Note that this expectation is six hours per family, not per student-athlete. Families can fulfill this expectation through a combination of coaching (if assigned a coaching race role), and/or volunteering for the Idaho League (IICL) and/or our team.

Student-Athlete Expectations: Student-Athletes are expected to volunteer at least one hour each race they attend, either taking down the racecourse post race, or volunteering for the team and/or Idaho League. Student-athletes have ample opportunities to volunteer at races, surpassing the one-hour minimum expectation if they desire. Their efforts play an important role in contributing to a family's overall six-hour race commitment.

Coach Expectations: Each race coaches are designated by the head coach for specific roles, such as wave leads and wave assistants, involving roughly three hours over the course of a race weekend. If you are a coach and are not assigned one of these roles at a race, please consider volunteering for the team and/or Idaho League instead.

Team Leads: Relying on the honor system, time devoted to race-related roles is attributed to your family's overall volunteer commitment.

IICL Volunteers: Check the 25 IICL Vols/Race Tracker. If volunteers are needed, sign up for IICL and add your name to the tracker. If goal is met, please consider signing up to volunteer for our team instead.
