Brave Volunteer Trailblazers:

Opportunities are Endless!

Become a Brave Volunteer Trailblazer and play a pivotal role assisting with seasonal tasks like food, logistics, support, and more. Volunteer Trailblazers dedicate anywhere from a few to several hours each race and throughout the season. Read below to learn more about Volunteer Trailblazer opportunities and fill out the Volunteer Trailblazer Form to tell us how you can plug in! Your contributions are the essence of the Brave spirit!

Practice Check-In

Become a vital part of our team by joining as a practice check-in volunteer, responsible for signing in student-athletes and coaches at the beginning of each practice. We need approximately six non-riding check-in volunteers three times a week during the season. Your commitment involves about an hour at the start of each practice, ensuring the check-in process runs smoothly for student-athletes and coaches. With flexible attendance options, this is a great opportunity to collaborate with Check-In Leads, connect with fellow student-athletes, coaches, and parents, all while contributing to the seamless operation of our team.

Family Advisor

If you've completed a season, we seek your assistance in answering questions, guiding families, and offering support. Your vital role involves helping families understand expectations, encouraging active involvement, and supporting student-athletes. Your experience in addressing race-related inquiries, from registration to race-day logistics, is invaluable. Particularly beneficial for new families, your experience can make a significant difference by providing guidance and support, just as you would have appreciated during your first season. Your knowledge and participation could make all the difference in welcoming new families to our community and ensuring their success.

Race Support

Every race demands a collaborative effort to meet various requirements. This includes tasks such as coordinating and overseeing water bottle exchanges in the race feed zone, ensuring a steady supply of clean towels for fatigued student-athletes to wipe off the dust from their faces, preparing and organizing nutrition for both hungry student-athletes and coaches on race day, wrangling volunteers on-the-spot for both Boise Brave and the Idaho League (IICL), overseeing the setup and dismantling of team pit zone tents, and much more.

Fundraise & Sponsorship

Our team thrives on the collective strength of our fundraising efforts and the support we receive from sponsors each season. We are actively seeking individuals who can bring their enthusiasm to help us amplify our fundraising initiatives and build strong and sustainable networks. With an increasing number of dedicated parents involved in seeking and securing sponsorships for our team, our resources grow stronger by leaps and bounds. If you possess the time and the willingness to contribute to in-season fundraising, sponsor procurement, and sponsor relations, your assistance would be invaluable and greatly appreciated. Together, let's create a remarkable legacy for our team!

Food Shopper

Be a vital part of our team by ensuring our student-athletes, coaches, and families have the nutrition they need for success. As a Food Shopper, you'll be responsible for gathering essential items like fruit, granola bars, sandwiches, nuts, and more for race day and special events. Work alongside a lead, follow provided lists, and contribute to the overall success of our team's nutrition program. Your efforts directly impact the well-being and performance of our athletes. Join us in this essential role!

Special Events

Are you passionate about organizing socials and special events? If so, we would appreciate your assistance! Every season, our Team organizes several special events including the Season Kick-Off, Coaches' Socials, and End of Year Celebration. We are seeking individuals who can contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of these events. We need someone who has a creative flair for making these events memorable. If you have a knack for event organization and enjoy bringing people together, we would love to have your support!

Lost & Found

After each practice, race, and special event, our Team accumulates a pile of student-athlete and family belongings, resembling a lost and found extravaganza. We want to reunite these lost items with their rightful owners, and we're seeking volunteers to help facilitate this process. If you're willing to lend a hand in organizing and returning lost items, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. Let's make sure everything finds its way back home!

Bike Camp

Get ready for an exciting pre-season adventure! Bike Camp takes place every June at Jug Mountain Ranch, offering a weekend filled with NICA core values, skill-building, team camaraderie, camping, and unforgettable memories. We're seeking individuals who are willing to coordinate and implement both the logistical aspects and the fun-filled activities at Bike Camp for the next season. You'll work closely with the Team Leadership to make this event a success. If you're enthusiastic about creating an amazing experience for our team, join us in bringing the logistics and fun together at Bike Camp!

Senior Recognition

Every season, we make sure to give a special recognition to our graduating senior student-athletes through our Team's social media and at the End of the Year Celebration. It's a truly awe-inspiring moment as we bid farewell to our seniors, many of whom have been part of our Team since their early years. Throughout the season, we encourage you to keep track of the seniors' journeys and take note of their distinctive personalities and qualities. This will help us create a brief summary highlighting each senior's valuable contributions and impact on the Team. To get an idea of previous year shout-outs, you can visit the Boise Brave Instagram page.

Community Outreach

Join our Team in community outreach! We engage in programs like the Boise Bike Project Holiday Kids Bike Giveaway, SWIMBA trail maintenance, the Goat Head Festival, the Boise Twilight Criterium, and more. Seeking volunteers for participation and logistics. Whether you're eager to lend a helping hand during events or play a role in organizing and coordinating behind the scenes, your valuable contribution will be instrumental.  Let us know if you're interested and together, we'll make a difference in our community!

Food Prep

Our Team's Food Lead frequently seeks volunteers to assist with preparing sandwiches, breakfast burritos and grab-and-go nutrition before race weekends. While the Food Lead takes charge of organizing and acquiring all the necessary ingredients, we rely on a group of helpful volunteers to come together a couple of days before each race weekend to assemble a variety of pre-made sandwiches. It's a collaborative effort to create a cornucopia of delicious and convenient food options for our team members.

Coach Socials

Every season, our coaches gather as one big group for collaboration and camaraderie, typically hosted at a Team member's home. We have around 120 coaches in total, but we plan for approximately 50 to 60 coaches to attend these gatherings. If you have a home or backyard that can accommodate such a group and you're interested in hosting, please let us know!  The team covers the cost of food and drinks, while the host provides the venue. If you're willing to open your doors to our coaches and create a welcoming environment, we would be delighted to hear from you. Together, let's foster teamwork and create memorable experiences!

Provide Baked Goods

The team often relies on a variety of baked goods for race weekends and special events. To ensure our student-athletes at the Team Pit Zone are well-fueled, we request a selection of delicious treats. These may include tea breads like banana bread, zucchini bread, and lemon pound cake, as well as muffins, cookies, rice crispy treats, brownies and more. Whether you have a passion for baking and would like to prepare these goodies yourself, or you can conveniently purchase them from a local bakery, any contribution would be greatly appreciated!.

Merchandise

Assist with tasks related to our Team merchandise, including selecting and acquiring team kits, t-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, beanies, coach shirts, jackets, stickers, car magnets, and other Boise Brave related items. The role also involves promoting and selling these merchandise items to our team members at races and special events. If you're interested in contributing to these tasks, please let us know!

Team Admin

The Team relies on regular assistance with numerous behind-the-scenes projects. These include editing the Team's communications and website, managing spreadsheets, designing helmet and practice POD stickers, and providing other organizational and administrative support. If you possess computer skills and are willing to contribute, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks to our amazing volunteers for making a difference!
